In February, the Science Technology Park Belgrade hosted a key event marking the successful completion of the IPA 2018 project, “Increasing Innovation Capacity and Technological Readiness of SMEs.” This project, aimed at boosting innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of Serbian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), saw significant support from the European Union and the Serbian Government.
One of the standout moments of the event was the presentation by Baby FM, which showcased its groundbreaking wearable AIoT system for real-time child temperature monitoring. This innovative technology demonstrated Serbia’s growing potential for creating successful products that could make an impact on global markets.
The event brought together prominent figures from the Serbian government, the EU, and the business and research sectors. The main speakers included:

Notably, 44 companies successfully launched their products, generating €8.62 million in revenue. Additionally, the project resulted in 57 patent applications and strengthened collaboration between research organizations and the private sector.
This celebration of Serbia’s innovation ecosystem also included the announcement of continued support through the IPA 2019 project, which has secured an additional €26 million in funding. The project’s goals remain focused on accelerating technological development, enhancing the commercialization of research, and boosting the competitiveness of Serbian businesses on the global stage.
